At ALIGN, everything we do rests on a few simple principles: simple, repeatable, joyful, supported, sustainable — movement heals. Tracking your habits is one of the easiest, most science-backed ways to stay consistent. We believe in these principles so deeply that Amy created two ways for you to track the habits that support them.
Both ways are the same - scientifically supported, grounded in gratitude and your anchor.
Why tracking works (it's not magic — it's behavioral science)!
Tracking a habit works because it hits the three levers behavioral science knows actually move behavior: measurement, feedback, and reward. Recording a behavior makes it concrete — you can't hide from a blank square — and what gets measured gets done.
Each checkmark delivers a small, immediate dopamine reward the brain craves, something the habit itself often takes longer to provide. A visible streak becomes its own motivator: the longer the chain, the more your brain wants to protect it.
Over time, that streak shifts your identity from "someone trying to exercise" to "someone who shows up" — and identity is the most durable driver of long-term behavior change.
We will be working on all of this and more at our Fall Retreat, ALIGN in Autumn. Reserve your spot today if you haven’t yet!
See you on the mat,
