Newsletter 11: Today we practiced everything we believe
A recap of ALIGN in Autumn — and the six beliefs the whole day was built on.
Hi friend,
ALIGN in Autumn happened today, and we're still coming down from it.
The day started the way we hoped it would: slowly. Women arriving, finding the room, setting their mats down before their bags. Then mat Pilates with Amie — the kind where you stop performing and start noticing. Where you feel your body in space before anyone asks you to do anything with it.
Then the habit work with Amy: the science of why we do what we do, and how to find your anchor — the version of you that moves toward joy and purpose instead of away from guilt.
From there the day just kept being good. Nourishing mocktail sampling and supplement education with Shelly Goudreau. A nourishing lunch. A beautiful October day with a babbling brook in the background! A slow, stretchy afternoon with some extra love for the toes. Baking protein muffins together. A stretchy and grateful end to the day. And flower bouquets and goody bags to carry home — because a practice that has no beauty in it isn't a practice, it's a program.
Why we tell you about the day
Not to make you wish you'd been there. (Though we missed you!!— the next one is coming.)
We tell you because a day like that isn't magic. It's a set of beliefs, arranged into a schedule. And those beliefs are the whole reason ALIGN exists:
01 — Movement heals. Pilates is an investment in the body you'll live in for decades. Strength, mobility, and ease that compound. Nobody in that room was trying to look different. They were trying to feel like themselves again.
02 — Simple wins. One simple routine you'll actually keep beats a dozen complex plans you'll abandon by February. We watched people find one small thing today. That's the win.
03 — Repetition is the magic. Small acts of self-care, repeated gently, are what quietly become a changed life. A retreat day is not the transformation — it's the demonstration. The transformation is Tuesday night, alone, when you roll out the mat anyway.
04 — Joy matters. Gratitude connects mind and body. A practice you enjoy is a practice that lasts — which is why there were mocktails, muffins, and flowers, and not just a worksheet.
05 — Supported, together. Women connecting with women is its own medicine. Growth is lighter when it's shared.
06 — Sustainable for a lifetime. We build practices that fit real life — no burnout, no all-or-nothing, just rhythms that hold.
The part that matters most
Rest is not a reward. Slowness is a form of intelligence. And the answers you're looking for are usually already inside you — waiting for a quiet enough room to be heard.
ALIGN is our attempt at building that room.
Alignment isn't a destination. It's a practice you return to. Today was one return. You get to make the next one.
This week
Pick up one thing from today — or pick one you've never tried — and make it small enough to keep. Lay out the mat. Set the journal on your pillow. Do the prep, not the practice. Let the wanting do the work.
See you on the mat,
Amie & Amy
